Basil Chicken Stirfry | Viphalay | 10523 99st, Edmonton

Spicy, grilled, and just a hint of sweet this stirfry of collected flavours is an experience! Pair it with coconut rice and you are in food heaven followed by a food coma afterwards.

Bagel Platter | New York Bagel Cafe | 8430 Gateway Blvd, Edmonton

This is a poppyseed bagel and almond, honey, and raisin cream cheese spread here. Matched with a scoop of delicious made from scratch potato salad, veggies, alfalfa sprouts, and a perfectly toasted bagel.

Not to mention all the cream cheese spreads are made for scratch as well! The service was not timely however they were friendly, very informed, and anyway it was worth the wait.

Bacon Cheese Burger | Tasty Tom’s | 9965 82 Ave (Whyte Ave) Edmonton

Great home fries, pretty good burger. It was very large but I ate the whole thing in one sitting which is really rare. Fresh ingredients and timely service. And if you don’t finish the burger, almost everyone finished the fries!

Austrian Apple Strudel | Bistro Praha | 10117 101 St Edmonton

Very tasty, very flakey, and very much with creme on top. Dusted with powdered sugar and served large. A great ending to a large meal and lucky for me this dessert is light enough to hold down.

Sorry about the long break/unannounced break…

Lemon Mousse | Continental Treat | 10560 - 82 Ave (Whyte), Edmonton, AB

This light and airy treat is for lemon lovers. A nice palate cleansing dessert to end a meal. Served with vanilla ice cream and whip cream.

No words. Looks as good as the description and then some.

Go.

Mini Desserts | Block 1912 | 10361 82 Ave Edmonton, AB

A recent excursion to Block left myself and a friend of mine, melting in a puddle of desserts. As it turns out, Block 1912 has employed a wonderful pastry chef pushing out these little dessert tarts and cakes. Each about $4.95, each with a different taste, each worth your money.

Along with these desserts, Block offers food, gelato, and hot drinks. Visit Block, go for the food, stay for the drawer of mystery.

Haddock & Chips | Sir Winston’s Fish & Chips | 10505 51 Ave, Edmonton, AB

Did you know that not every restaurant that looks like a dive IS a dive? Sir Winston’s Fish and Chips looks like a total dive from the outside but the moment you step inside, it opens up into a green and blue mash up or British collectables and friendly faces.

I could get better fish and chips, maybe at a place with more people too. I keep coming back to Winstons for a reason, service and food. The service is great, the owner usually comes out himself to greet visitors and serves food. He’s friendly, playful and courteous. The food, awesome. You can get your fish and ships by the piece, above is ONE PIECE. You can barely imagine what a two piece dinner looks like.
